Sad Sundays 1

I have always had a thing for sad music. I don’t think of myself as hugely depressive and sad. But I do tend to be melancholy sometimes.
I don’t see this as something bad. These sad songs express things that I feel but cannot articulate, and because they do it so well I feel more connected to life when I hear them. Make sense? I may appear a bit nutty, but … I am?
So I am launching Sad Sundays, because is this not the time when we feel most melancholy in general?

I hope the songs I put out on Sundays don’t depress you, but I do hope they touch a nerve, or something. Whatever.
This is possibly the saddest song I have ever heard. I don’t listen to it too often as a result:

STREETS OF PHILADELPHIA – Bruce Springsteen

I was bruised and battered and I couldn’t tell
What I felt
I was unrecognizable to myself
I saw my reflection in a window I didn’t know
My own face
Oh brother are you gonna leave me
Wastin´away
On the streets of Philadelphia

I walked the avenue till my legs felt like stone
I heard the voices of friends vanished and gone
At night I could hear the blood in my veins
Black and whispering as the rain
On the streets of Philadelphia

Ain’t no angel gonna greet me
Its just you and I my friend
My clothes don’t fit me no more
I walked a thousand miles
Just to slip the skin

The night has fallen, I’m lying awake
I can feel myself fading away
So receive me brother with your faithless kiss
Or will we leave each other alone like this
On the streets of Philadelphia

Being brazen: Glad to hear it!rox: It does indeed. On Sad Sundays!Tamara: what do you have against dan? Kidding! That song is just too sad hey? I have had some weird word verifications too, like “styllish”, which I am not.
